Corcovado National Park - A guided tour into Costa Rica’s crown jewel
rainforest. After an early breakfast, you leave for the San Pedrillo Ranger
Station at Corcovado National Park, about a 20 minute boat ride from Drake Bay. The crown jewel of Costa Rica's rainforests and the most biologically
intense place on earth, Corcovado is home to 400 species of birds, 140 mammals,
116 species of amphibians and reptiles, 500 species of trees and 6000 species of
insects. Corcovado National Park protects several endangered species including
jaguar, puma, scarlet macaw, crocodiles, tapir, poison dart and golden frogs and
the harpy eagle. $85 per person.

Caño Island -
A guided tour to view an ancient Indian burial ground, beautiful beaches, hiking
and snorkeling. Caño Island is a marine biological reserve famous for
mysterious pre-Columbian spheres and world class scuba diving and snorkeling.
Walking on the trails you will see Indian artifacts, and the snorkeling here is
amazing. Isla del Caño consists of approximately 200 hectares (500 acres) and
lies 15 kilometers offshore. Pre-Columbian people crossed the open ocean
in small boats to make a religious site and burial ground. Pottery dating from
200-800 A.D. has been found, although large-scale archeological studies have not
been carried out. It may have been a trading post during the Middle Ages. More
recently, it is rumored that Sir Francis Drake (or Pirate Drake if you are not
English) left some of his gold treasure here. Today the island is an oasis of
calm and beauty and well worth your visit. Another interesting fact about Caño
Island is that it gets more lightening strikes than any other place in the
world, there is actually a burn spot where the lightening has hit so many
times. $85 per person.

Kayak Tour
- Kayaking is a great way to see a variety of animals in the
area, both in the ocean and along the rivers. You can see birds, mangroves,
monkeys, toucans and so much more as you quietly paddle along the rainforested
river banks. Tours are available for all skills and comfort levels.
Please inquire as to what is available during your visit, not all tours are
conducted year round. Kayaks are rented by the hour, some lodges provide
them for free. Kayaks are available at Vida Marina's Marine Conservation
and Research Center. $15 per person per hour.

Horseback Riding
-
Guided tour to explore jungle
trails and beaches. A great way to see wildlife. Bring long pants, sunscreen,
water, hat. Tour lasts approximately three hours. $50 per person.

SCUBA -
Experience one of the world’s premier SCUBA spots around Caño Island. At Caño
Island you will encounter both pelagic (open ocean) and Pacific reef fish. Many
species are the same as found in the Galapagos Islands. If you like sharks you
will see 2-meter long white tipped reef sharks, silky sharks, bull sharks and
very occasionally hammerheads. It is not uncommon to see manta rays leaping from
the water and hundreds of lesser devil rays regularly pass by. There are too
many other fish to list here but many divers especially enjoy meeting the
free-swimming moray eels, which are often 2-meters long. The local dive
shop is a proud member of PIRA (PADI International Resort Association) and the
only MARES HUB center in Costa Rica. $125 per person.

Off-Shore Fishing -
All equipment furnished. We have amazing fishing in the area, with MahiMahi,
Tuna, Macrel, Rooster Fish, Jack and more. Average price is $400-$1200 depending
on who you go out with.
Bird Watching Tour - Add hundreds of birds
to your list, Costa Rica has more hummingbirds than all of North America and
Canada! Drake Bay is the best place in the country to see birds. $35
per person.

Night Tour -
Bugs... Most people unabashedly admit it's true. We crush them. We swat them. We
spray them. Some techno-types even zap them. Occasionally, however, we pause to
marvel them, for they are the most successful animal group on the planet. On
this two-hour trek through the rainforest, you'll go in search of the rogues'
gallery of micro-critters. And true, you're guaranteed to see the beast with two
brains on this tour. But fear not; with a plethora of anecdotes, insights, and
urban legends, the tales on this trek will surly transform your fear and
loathing to grudging admiration for one of the most incredible success stories
on the planet. $35 per person.
Drake Bay Canopy Tour - Swing through the
trees of the upper rainforest canopy, just like the monkeys, but you will be
wearing protective gear and use a zip line! $55 per person.
